THE ARTIST BEHIND THE MUSIC

Samuel G

Singer. Producer. Songwriter.

Born in Libya with Ghanaian roots, Samuel Gordon brings a cross-cultural perspective to his music, blending genres through his work as a singer, producer and songwriter.

From his earliest experiments with recording software to stages across Europe, his journey is driven by curiosity, craft and a desire to connect.

Musical roots

Samuel’s love of music began at five. He developed his singing and songwriting alongside instruments including guitar, piano and drums.

At 14, he discovered recording software and began teaching himself production. Within four years, he was producing for established artists, developing a versatile approach shaped by different genres and cultural influences.

Finding his sound

In 2016, Samuel moved to Ghana to be closer to the rise of Afrobeats. His work there has included collaborations with Tic, Joey B, Guru, Kelvynboy and Adina.

His first official single, “Forever,” was written and produced by Samuel and featured Ghanaian Hiplife pioneer Tic, formerly known as TicTac.

Beyond borders

In 2021, Samuel collaborated with American R&B singer and songwriter JC on the Afrobeats remix of “For Me.” He also appeared on a Times Square billboard for a Christmas compilation EP.

In 2022, he toured Europe with Nana Darkman, performing at the 90s Supershow and Retro Summer Festival. During his time in Berlin, he also worked in the studio with Jan van der Toorn and Lavonne van der Toorn.

The music continues

His 2022 releases included “Grateful Remix,” featuring X Nikko and mixed by Ashbymix; “Diamonds,” co-produced with Sheeba; and “Season,” a track built around confidence and inspiration.

With his cultural influences and experience across five instruments, Samuel continues to pursue an international audience and create music that empowers people of color around the world.
